Ask the insurance questions before taking the keys.

A replacement or additional vehicle can change your household’s insurance. Talk with Todd about the planned purchase, drivers, financing, and timing.

Identify the vehicle and the arrangement.

Have year, make, model, and whether the vehicle is purchased, financed, or leased ready for a discussion. Explain who will normally drive and where the vehicle will be kept. The initial website form can simply say you are planning a purchase; keep sensitive identifiers for a suitable follow-up channel.

Confirm timing instead of guessing.

Ask how the current policy treats a new or replacement vehicle, what reporting is required, and what needs to happen before relying on coverage. Do not assume an automatic grace period or identical rules between insurers. A quote request does not add the car to a policy.

Review more than the monthly payment.

Ask about the proposed liability limits and vehicle damage coverage, including deductibles. Review any lender or lease requirements separately.

  • New versus replacement vehicle and expected purchase date.
  • Drivers, storage address, and personal or business use.
  • Financing or leasing terms that need review.
  • Coverage confirmation and documents needed before driving.

Questions before you start.

Can I rely on coverage because I sent the form at the dealership?

No. Contact Todd or your insurer and obtain confirmation of the applicable coverage and effective date. The website inquiry is not an issued policy or policy change.

Useful resources.

Independent resources provide additional context; they do not imply a government endorsement of Luedtke Insurance.

General information only. Coverage, eligibility, limits, exclusions, and availability depend on the insurer and actual policy. This page does not bind, change, or cancel insurance. Confirm your specific needs with Todd and your insurer.
