Look beyond the business name.
A company may keep the same name while adding services, employees, locations, or vehicles. Describe what changed since the last conversation with the agent. Even a change in the kind of customer or job can create a question worth raising before assuming the existing arrangement fits.
Organize the changes into four groups.
Keep the initial request brief and arrange a suitable channel for contracts, schedules, or confidential records afterward.
- Operations: work performed, customers served, and off-site activity.
- Property: premises, tools, stock, equipment, and storage.
- People and vehicles: drivers, employees, contractors, and travel.
- Agreements: leases and customer requirements needing review.
Leave with a list of confirmed and open items.
Ask Todd to explain what the current or proposed coverage addresses, what needs more information, and what may require another policy or specialist. Record any confirmed changes and effective dates. This guide does not establish that a contract’s insurance requirements are satisfied.
Questions before you start.
Is a renewal notice proof that all my new activities are covered?
No. Explain changes to your agent and ask for confirmation of the relevant coverage. An unchanged business name or renewal date is not a substitute for reviewing the actual operation.
Useful resources.
Independent resources provide additional context; they do not imply a government endorsement of Luedtke Insurance.
General information only. Coverage, eligibility, limits, exclusions, and availability depend on the insurer and actual policy. This page does not bind, change, or cancel insurance. Confirm your specific needs with Todd and your insurer.
