Describe the work, including the parts that changed.
A storefront, a service business, and a home-based operation need different conversations. Explain what you sell or do, where work takes place, who visits the premises, and whether employees or subcontractors are involved. New services and new locations can change the questions an insurer needs answered.
- Describe your operations and the customers you serve.
- Identify owned or rented space, inventory, tools, and equipment.
- Mention vehicles, off-site work, and contract insurance requirements.
Review property and liability separately.
Commercial property concerns the business assets described by the policy. Commercial liability concerns covered claims made against the business. One does not replace the other. Ask Todd to explain the proposed coverages, exclusions, limits, and deductibles for your operation before comparing prices.
Flag needs that a basic package may not address.
Tell Todd if your work involves professional advice, customer data, employee injuries, delivery driving, or contracts with unusual requirements. These topics may need different coverage or specialist review. Mentioning them here is not a promise that a particular product is available through Luedtke Insurance.
- Does the proposal match the activities I actually perform?
- Are tools or inventory away from the premises addressed?
- Which requirements in my lease or contract need a separate review?
Request a commercial insurance review.
Select Business and provide a short description of your operation. Keep confidential customer records, payroll files, financial account information, and other sensitive documents out of the website form. Todd can explain what is needed for the next step and how to provide it.
Questions before you start.
Can I ask about a business operated from home?
Yes. Explain the work and how the home is used. Do not assume a homeowners policy covers business property or business liability; ask for a review of the actual situation.
Does a certificate change my coverage?
A certificate is not a substitute for the policy or an endorsement. Have Todd review a contract or certificate request before assuming its requirements are met.
