Start with use and ownership.
For each structure, note its purpose, who owns it, who uses it, and whether the use has changed. Explain storage, repair work, tenants, and any activity open to visitors. A structure’s appearance or traditional name does not fully describe the exposure.
Keep the contents discussion separate.
Ask how the building is described and how property inside it is handled. Equipment, stored goods, and another person’s property should not be assumed included under the same limit. Ask Todd about available coverage and any separate description or arrangement required.
Make the next review concrete.
Prepare a private record before contacting the agency. The initial form only needs a summary and a way to reach you.
- Location, general construction, and present building use.
- Ownership, rental, and shared-use arrangements.
- Contents and equipment whose coverage needs review.
- Planned conversions, repairs, additions, or periods without use.
Questions before you start.
Is a former barn covered the same way after I convert it to a workshop?
Do not assume so. Tell Todd about the new use before relying on the existing description, and confirm any required policy changes.
Useful resources.
Independent resources provide additional context; they do not imply a government endorsement of Luedtke Insurance.
General information only. Coverage, eligibility, limits, exclusions, and availability depend on the insurer and actual policy. This page does not bind, change, or cancel insurance. Confirm your specific needs with Todd and your insurer.
